Holy shit this song has flown up the charts, and deservedly so. Belgian indie rocker Gotye paired up with New Zealander 21-year old Kimbra, who by their countries of origin one should already expect a great accent collab. I love the song because of how it builds up…his beautifully soothing voice that climbs to heart-wrenched expression, and finally at the end Kimbra sneaks in to get her say, creating an awesome dynamic between the two. I find it Kings of Convenience-esque in the opening, that lets loose into a great harmony of two exes delivering their last blows.
